Welcome to Bellarine Woodworkers – people who love woodwork, woodturning, carpentry and joinery, scroll sawing, intarsia, model building and friendship. We are located in Drysdale (near Geelong) in south east Australia.
Originally known as Queenscliff Woodworkers, the club was formed in the early 1980’s by a group of dedicated woodworkers to get together to show their wares, exchange ideas and promote their cause amid an atmosphere of good fellowship. When, in the late 90’s, their Queenscliff meeting place became unavailable, the club moved to Drysdale, became incorporated, and the name was later changed to Bellarine Woodworkers Inc. to reflect the whole district from which the membership hails.
The Woodies members, both male and female, come from all walks of life and occupations. Engineers, bankers, carpenters, joiners and teachers are among the many trades and professions represented.
We run an annual exhibition in the end of year holiday period to display and sell our products and we occasionally organize trips to places and events concerned with various aspects of wooding. Visit our gallery page to see some of our work. You can also look for any upcoming events under the ‘Current events’ page.
We invite all interested people to attend our meetings which are held on the first Monday of each month at 1.30 p.m. This meeting is held at the Springdale Neighbourhood Centre, High Street, Drysdale. Another meeting is held at the workshop on the 3rd Monday of each month at 12:30 p.m.
Membership Application forms are available from the secretary.
